Platinum Palladium Printing

Platinum palladium printing is 19th century photographic printing process which uses light sensitive metal salts exposed to Ultraviolet light to produce black & white photographic prints of the highest quality and permanence.

Known for extremely long tonal range and image depth, platinum and palladium prints are one of the most archival and stable of all photographic processes. The prints are created through “contact printing” which requires the negative be the size of the final print. Original “in camera” negatives, darkroom internegatives and “digital negatives” produced from high resolution ink jet printers yield final images with an almost three dimensional quality resulting in deep, velvety blacks, luminous highlights and smooth transitions between tones. The final color tonality can range from warm black to reddish brown, with a range of grays and cooler tones, depending on process variation and paper base.

Keith Snyder produces platinum palladium prints on a wide variety of papers and works closely with each artist to create the best prints possible and fulfil each individual artist’s vision of their work.
